A temporary suspension for all new applications for the Queensland Skilled Visa Nominations under the State Nominated visa subclasses 489 and 190 has been announced by Business and Skilled Migration Queensland (BSMQ) due to applications having reached the ceiling allocated by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP).
Applicants who have already submitted and paid for their unfinalised applications with BSMQ have a choice of remaining in the queue or requesting a refund of fees paid.
All Expressions of Interest (EOIs) submitted through SkillSelect, if they have not yet been considered, will no longer be considered valid. A new EOI must be resubmitted by the applicant once the application process has reopened.
Upcoming changes to the Queensland Skilled Occupation list are also expected. New EOIs will not be considered unless they meet the revised criteria.
BSMQ is expected to provide advice shortly on when the nominations process for subclasses 489 and 190 will reopen.
